Megan Pulkkinen CPH & Designer

I am a Landscape Designer, Consultant, and Gardening Coach serving a variety of residential and commercial clients mainly on the Kitsap and Olympic Peninsula. I grew up in the East Bay Area of California and moved to Washington in 1991.

I have an AA degree in Horticulture from Chabot College, Garden Design and History coursework from UC Berkeley, continuing education through the WSNLA CPH program, EcoPro Certification, WSU Extension, various Art and Design courses, and 40 years of work experience in many aspects of the Horticulture and Landscape Industry. I consider myself a lifelong learner in all of these areas.

I have developed many great connections within our industry. If I cannot provide a service you need, I know who can be relied upon to help solve the problem.

The most rewarding way to learn this trade has been through knowledge shared by fellow gardeners, nursery professionals, contractors, artists, and business owners. I strive to return the favor by sharing what I've learned with my clients and friends.

What is a CPH?

The Certified Professional Horticulturist designation is earned through the Washington State Nursery and Landscape Association. It involves passing a comprehensive test on horticulture, plant identification, botany, entomology, weed and pest control, landscape design, maintenance, and pruning techniques. Continuing education in all aspects of horticulture is also required to maintain certification.

 What is an ecoPRO?

ecoPRO Certified Sustainable Landscape Professionals have passed an exam on sustainable landscaping principles and best management practices. We are committed to designing, constructing and managing landscapes with ecologically sound methods. The conservation and protection of water, soil and habitat was the natural instinct of many in our profession long before there was a certification available.
