Good Landscape Design

Is More Than a Quick Makeover

The placement of trees, large shrubs, hardscaping, and major features in your garden needs to be responsible and stand the test of time. This is where practical knowledge of plant material, construction techniques, regard for your needs, and artistic design training merge into a successful landscape plan. In Landscape Design the division of space and line are usually decided first then the plants and other elements are chosen to enhance the overall effect.

In designing a landscape we have a wonderful and varied palette of material to work with. The shapes, colors, and textures of the plants contrasted with natural stone, bright containers, soothing water and structural elements provides both opportunity and challenge. The arrangement of these elements in a pleasing and balanced composition is the goal of a good designer.

I am happy to help you with a quick makeover, but if you intend to stay in your home for a while invest in good advice for the long term.

If you need help navigating the thousands of plants available, are in search of gorgeous year round color, texture, and interest, give me a call. I am happy to assist you with choices to enhance or unify your existing garden, attract more wildlife, or require fewer resources to maintain.
